Scarlett Kennedy is the Executive Director and founder of Maplewood Treatment Solutions, a residential treatment program built on the belief that every individual deserves compassionate, individualized care, no matter where they are in their journey. With over a decade of experience spanning every level of the behavioral health field, Scarlett brings a rare combination of professional expertise and deeply personal understanding to her leadership role.
Scarlett’s path into the world of treatment and recovery began not behind a desk, but as a client. From a young age, she struggled with addiction and behavioral challenges that many in the field might have written off as too difficult or too complex. It was through the support of dedicated treatment professionals and the transformative power of recovery programs that Scarlett found her footing, achieving sobriety at the age of twenty-one. That turning point ignited a lifelong commitment to giving back to others what was so generously given to her.
Determined to understand the treatment process from every angle, Scarlett began her career in entry-level positions and steadily advanced through the ranks over the course of ten years. She has served in virtually every role within a treatment facility. Positions in direct client care to clinical coordination to program development, before earning her position as Executive Director. This hands-on experience across all facets of the organization gives her an unmatched perspective on what it takes to deliver truly effective care.
When Scarlett set out to build Maplewood Treatment Solutions, she did so with a singular vision: to create a program that would meet every client exactly where they are. Rather than penalizing individuals for exhibiting behaviors rooted in substance abuse and trauma, or referring them out when the work becomes challenging, Maplewood is designed to guide clients through their most difficult moments with patience, structure, and unwavering support. Scarlett holds a particular passion for working with clients who present behavioral complexities. Those who are too often overlooked or dismissed because of the level of attention and care they require.
At the heart of Scarlett’s philosophy is a simple but powerful principle: treat every client as you would your own family. She believes that dignity, respect, and genuine human connection are not privileges to be earned in recovery, they are rights that every person carries with them through the door. This ethos permeates every aspect of Maplewood’s programming, culture, and clinical approach.
Scarlett’s overarching mission is to break the stigma surrounding addiction and addiction treatment. She is committed to demonstrating that residential care can go above and beyond for every patient. Providing not just clinical intervention, but a foundation of hope, accountability, and lasting change.
Outside of the extensive hours she dedicates to leading Maplewood, Scarlett is a devoted mother to three wonderful children and a loving wife. Her home is also shared with the family’s beloved pets. Balancing the demands of executive leadership with the joys of family life, Scarlett embodies the resilience, dedication, and heart that define both her personal and professional journey.

Natasha Davalt is Maplewood Treatment Solutions' Facility Administrator and has been an instrumental part of our ability to turn the program into a well operating facility since the very beginning. With nearly two decades of experience in the mental health and recovery field dating back to 2004, Natasha brings a rare combination of operational expertise and genuine compassion to her role, and she considers the most rewarding part of her work knowing that the care provided at Maplewood can impact various areas of a person's life, empowering them in their capabilities, enlightening them to their potential, and allowing them to forgive themselves.
Natasha was drawn to Maplewood Treatment Solutions because of its commitment to treating every individual with dignity and respect. Having worked in organizations where people were treated like a number, depersonalized, dismissed, and not valued, she recognized in Maplewood a different kind of environment. At Maplewood, every individual is seen as someone who has the potential to live a fulfilling life, and the team is enthusiastic in guiding them through that journey. What she loves most about the staff at Maplewood is that they are humbled by the fact that addiction and mental health have impacted them personally, and they use that experience to better relate to and support those they serve. She is honored to be working in such an accepting environment and alongside such an amazing team.
Throughout her career, Natasha has had the privilege of working across a wide range of behavioral health settings including the criminal justice system, foster care, child and adolescent mental health, and with adults with physical and mental disabilities. Despite the breadth of her experience, her heart has always remained with dual diagnosis adults, which makes her role at Maplewood a natural fit for her passion and expertise.
Outside of her role at Maplewood, Natasha is the proud mom of two beautiful boys and spends much of her time immersed in their hip hop dancing, acting classes, playdates, and everything that comes with having two active kids. On the rare occasion she has a moment to herself, she enjoys canvas painting, history tours, and Zumba. She is married to her best friend, and their blended family, with all the adversities they have faced, not only fills her with pride but allows her to serve others with a more understanding perspective. As a mom balancing a career, family, personal interests, and her own healing, Natasha sincerely appreciates the work it takes for the recovery community to put their healing first, and she praises the resilience needed for them to continue their journey long-term.

Nasya Coverdale is the Director of Nursing at Maplewood Treatment Solutions, where she leads nursing operations with the same compassion and determination that have defined her career from the very beginning. A Registered Nurse who has worked her way up through the ranks, Nasya's journey to leadership was not handed to her. It was earned through years of dedication, hands-on patient care, and an unwavering commitment to showing up for people on the hardest days of their lives.
Early in her career, Nasya discovered something that would shape everything that followed. She found purpose in helping people navigate their most vulnerable moments. Whether it was a patient in crisis or a family searching for answers, she recognized that nursing was about far more than clinical tasks. It was about being present, being steady, and being someone a patient could trust when everything else felt uncertain.
After spending time in the hospital setting, Nasya knew she wanted something different. She wanted to be part of something that treated patients at the whole health level, not just addressing symptoms but caring for the full person. That desire led her to addiction care, a field that spoke to her because of its complexity, its emphasis on holistic healing, and its potential to create real, lasting change in the lives of individuals facing some of the most difficult struggles imaginable.
Nasya carries a deeply held belief that every person battling addiction deserves quality care delivered with dignity and respect, no exceptions. That conviction is not just something she talks about. It is woven into the way she leads, the standards she sets, and the environment she builds every single day at Maplewood. She works tirelessly to create a space that is supportive and person centered, both for the patients in treatment and for the nursing staff she mentors and manages.
What keeps Nasya coming back each day is simple. It is watching the transformation. It is seeing someone who arrived broken begin to rebuild their life, mend relationships with family members torn apart by addiction, and rediscover a sense of hope they thought was gone for good. That is what fuels her, and it is what gives her work true meaning.
As a leader, Nasya is equally passionate about developing the people around her. She is committed to fostering growth within her team, creating a culture of accountability and compassion, and ensuring that every nurse under her guidance feels empowered to deliver the kind of care that changes lives. Her leadership reflects the same philosophy she brings to patient care: meet people where they are, believe in their potential, and never stop pushing for better.

As the Director of Operations at Maplewood Treatment Solutions, Steven Petroski brings a powerful combination of professional leadership and deeply personal experience to the mission of helping individuals overcome substance use disorders. His journey to this role is not a conventional one, and that is precisely what makes his impact so profound.
In 2023, Steven faced a life-altering diagnosis of Stage 3 testicular cancer. What followed was an arduous battle that tested every measure of his strength, including intensive chemotherapy, targeted radiation, and severe neuropathy that required nine months of dedicated physical therapy simply to regain the ability to walk. During this extraordinarily difficult period, Steven encountered a setback that many in the recovery community know all too well. What began as necessary pain management following his cancer treatment led to a relapse with opioid use. Rather than allowing that moment to define him, Steven demonstrated the very courage he now inspires in others. He recognized the signs early, made the brave decision to seek help, and recommitted himself fully to recovery.
That experience became a defining turning point. While navigating his own healing, Steven discovered a deep and unwavering passion for helping others facing similar challenges. He entered the behavioral health field as a Behavioral Health Technician, where he quickly distinguished himself through his natural ability to connect with clients, his tireless work ethic, and his genuine understanding of what it means to fight for a second chance at life. Clients and colleagues alike were drawn to his authenticity, his refusal to shy away from his own story, and his ability to meet people exactly where they are without judgment.
In just one year, through relentless dedication, resilience, and an unshakable commitment to service, Steven advanced to the role of Director of Operations at Maplewood Treatment Solutions. In this capacity, he oversees the daily operations of the facility, ensuring that every department functions cohesively to deliver the highest quality of care. From staffing and compliance to program development and client experience, Steven approaches every aspect of his role with the same determination that carried him through his own recovery.
"Today, I channel my experiences into creating supportive, effective treatment environments and empowering individuals to reclaim their lives." These words from Steven are not just a professional mission statement. They are a personal promise that guides everything he does at Maplewood.
Steven's journey is a living testament to the power of recovery, perseverance, and purpose. He remains deeply committed to ensuring that every individual who walks through the doors of Maplewood Treatment Solutions is met with compassion, understanding, and the highest standard of patient care possible. His story reminds clients every day that no setback is too great, no obstacle is insurmountable, and that a life of meaning and purpose is always within reach.

Dr. Edward W. Pearson, Maplewood Treatment Solutions Medical Director, is a physician dedicated to transforming the landscape of substance abuse treatment through an integrative, whole-person approach to addiction recovery. With extensive experience leading clinical operations at prominent addiction treatment facilities throughout South Florida, including serving as Medical Director at The Healing Center of Fort Lauderdale, Academy Treatment Solutions, and Full of Life Recovery Center, among others, Dr. Pearson brings a unique depth of expertise to the field of addiction medicine.
Dr. Pearson earned his undergraduate degrees in Microbiology and Chemistry from the University of Florida and his medical degree, with an Academic Excellence Award, from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He completed his internship at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento and went on to practice as a primary care physician before redirecting his career toward a more comprehensive model of healing.
Recognizing that conventional medicine often falls short in addressing the complex, underlying causes of addiction, Dr. Pearson pursued advanced training in integrative and functional medicine. He was certified by the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine in 2004 and recertified in 201 and has continued his education through the Institute of Functional Medicine and other leading organizations. This foundation allows him to treat not just the symptoms of substance use disorders, but the biochemical imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, and co-occurring conditions that fuel the cycle of addiction.
In 2007, Dr. Pearson founded the New Medicine Foundation (NMF), a global health initiative built on the principle that true recovery requires restoring the body at a cellular level. Through NMF, he developed evidence-based, biochemically focused detoxification and healing protocols that have become central to his addiction treatment philosophy. His approach integrates medically supervised detox, nutritional restoration, hormonal balancing, and comprehensive patient education, empowering individuals in recovery with the knowledge and tools they need for lasting sobriety.
Throughout his career as a Medical Director at multiple substance abuse treatment facilities, Dr. Pearson has overseen medication-assisted treatment programs, developed individualized recovery plans, and mentored clinical teams in delivering integrative care to patients struggling with opioid, alcohol, and polysubstance use disorders. He is a firm advocate for treating the whole patient, mind, body, and spirit, and believes that addressing the root causes of addiction is the key to reducing relapse and restoring quality of life.
Today, Dr. Pearson travels throughout the country overseeing both substance abuse treatment facilities and integrative medicine practices. His dual focus stems from a growing lack of trust in traditional pharmaceutical medications among patients and providers alike. While Dr. Pearson acknowledges that there is a time and place for conventional pharmaceuticals, he firmly believes that practitioners should be focused on identifying and correcting the root cause of illness rather than simply managing symptoms. This philosophy drives his work across every facility he touches, whether guiding addiction recovery programs or advancing integrative care models. With a primary focus in the Tri-State Area and a reach that extends to programs nationwide, Dr. Pearson continues to advance the field of addiction and integrative medicine by helping patients not only achieve sobriety but reclaim their overall health and vitality.
